In mathematics, the number 8 represents a quantity or value of 8.

The whole number between 7 and 9 is 8. The number name of 8 is eight.

Children can be asked to observe or count things around them that are eight in number. For instance, you can discuss various facts related to number 8 such as the number of pints that make a gallon, the number of legs on a spider or a scorpion or the number of oars on the racing boat ‘eight’.

Instead of handing out number worksheets to the children, you can show them an encyclopedia and ask them to count the number of planets in our solar system.
