Round to the Nearest Hundred- 3rd Grade Math
In the third grade, students need to use estimation to verify the results of mathematical procedures like addition and subtraction. Proficiency in rounding numbers comes in handy, when they start using estimation techniques. This worksheet helps the students practice rounding off numbers to the nearest hundred. The key idea is to round off numbers to those numbers that are simpler to deal with, so that a quick mental calculation can be performed. For example, students should be able mentally figure out that 397 + 204 is close to 600, as 397 is close to 400 and 204 is close to 200.
