The main objectives of this lesson are to teach students how to read and interpret comparison models, understand the concepts of more and fewer, and solve comparison problems using addition and subtraction.
Students will practice solving comparison word problems through modeling, identifying the two things/people being compared, determining if one has more or fewer, and finding the unknown quantity using addition or subtraction.
For advanced students, there are optional sections called 'Let's Practice More' and 'Take a Challenge' that provide additional practice or challenge questions to further enhance their understanding of comparison word problems.
